As I was diving into the 1885 story, I'd really loved the idea of laborer communities, specifically in these sort of 'To Let' hotels. In this frame, a journalist is interviewing a group of workers and giving them a chance to air their grievances. You could think of this reporter as an early part of the union/ solidarity movement, but, in this point in history, these workers were really at the mercy of the large companies that were the few employment opportunities for many.
