The Mothership Returns- A Tribute to Funkadelic

In 2016 I was invited to be part of an art show sponsored and hosted by the now defunct 'Meltdown Comics'. Myself and host of numerous artists were tasked with a Parliment/ Funkadelic art piece with basically no other limits.

I opted to create a large animation cel looking piece. As it turned out, no one in the entire southland printed on large acetate ( which is how I create my cel prints). Since these were oversized, the only quote I got was in the 5 figures in terms of price. I was stuck! I opted to cheat and have the characters all be printed on 'letter' size, and sit on top of the 18 x 24" background.

Gustavo Vaca was the curator of the show and also opted to create a nice glossy booklet for the show. The show was ultimately travel to Japan. Unfortunately my piece shattered on the way overseas!
